Walktober

Wednesday, October 2nd - Wednesday, October 30th

Take a step in the right direction by joining Festival at Bel Air in spreading awareness on mental health among Gen Z and Young Millennials. We’re taking Maryland’s official exercise and using it to not only benefit from physical activity, but also shed light on the rise of depression, anxiety, and other mental illnesses affecting our youth. Stride with us every Wednesday in October as we aim to set a record.

Did you know? (1)

  • About 1/4 of Gen Z do not consistently feel like their life matters
  • About 1/2 often feel anxious
  • Roughly 1 in 5 often feel depressed

How does Festival at Bel Air’s participation in Walktober help?

  • Adults who get about 2.5 hours of brisk walking each week have a 25% lower risk of depression (2). We’re providing opportunities for the Bel Air community to come together and be a few steps closer towards a better well-being.
  • October is recognized as National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month. We’re housing a Mental Health Headquarters where you can learn more about how to improve your state of mind and even get a FREE screening from a medical professional at our kickoff event on October 2nd.
